1010 CommonCityBusiness reports that the Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corp. purchased the 14-story former Oil & Gas Building at 1100 Tulane Ave. in June for $2.3 million and plans to renovate the building to make space for about 130 one-bedroom and studio apartments for mixed income residents. Plans call for the current first-floor tenant, the nightclub Club Ampersand, to be replaced when the residential renovation gets started.

Other Renaissance procets in the area include Elysian Courtyards of Gentilly, 3000 Gentilly Blvd., the Terraces on Tulane, 3615 Tulane Ave., the Groves at Mile Branch in Covington, and an apartment and commercial kitchen facility at 1770 Tchoupitoulas St.
